Job Summary
The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes within our organization. This role will focus on optimizing workflows, reducing waste, enhancing product quality, and driving efficiency across production lines. The Industrial Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing, design engineering, production, quality, and supply chain—to implement lean manufacturing principles and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties/Responsibilities

Evaluate current manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency, and productivity improvements.

Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality.

Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing to optimize labor utilization and throughput.

Analyze data related to production performance, downtime, and capacity to drive decision-making.

Maintain various manufacturing engineering functions within Sun’s ERP

Work with MEs to assist with project responsibilities for data collection and data entry

Support/assist MEs with policies and procedural changes, including data collection

Support cost estimating, capacity planning, and plant layout initiatives.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a safe work environment.
Required Skills/Abilities

Oral and written communication skills

Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work across cross-functional teams.

Perform work under minimal supervision

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Basic analysis skills such as comparing cycle times between two different systems like ERP and Machine Metrics

Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement methodologies, and root cause analysis tools.
Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

0–3 years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in precision machining, hydraulics, or fluid power components).
