Job Summary

Process Mechanical Engineer opportunity located in the Kansas City, MO area. Working with internal and external clients, this position will be responsible for the execution of client projects in the consumer products industry. You'll be expected to apply theory in a practical context to determine feasibility of design, identify potential process upsets and malfunctions incorporating appropriate remediations, and apply commercially available technology for process execution. Relocation assistance will be considered for well qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Execute process designs through engineering calculations documented on PFDs, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings.
  • Investigate and analyze data to make process design decisions aligned with company and client objectives.
  • Apply commercially available technology for process execution, identifying potential malfunctions and incorporating appropriate remediations.
  • Specify and size pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, and other process equipment.
  • Maintain high professional ethics in the application of codes and standards and in all client interactions.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in leading or executing process designs, preferably within the consumer products industry.
  • Knowledge of fluids/chemicals used in consumer products, materials of construction, fluid control valves, and instrumentation.
  • Fluency with AutoCAD and Fathom; on-site, in-plant, and startup experience is preferred.
