Industrial Logistics Driver

General Description:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Driver to manage the delivery of mission-critical components for the oil, gas, and aerospace industry. Operating a company-provided vehicle and gooseneck trailer, you will be the final link in our manufacturing chain, ensuring that high-value parts reach our customers safely and on schedule. This role requires a professional with a pristine driving record and technical skills to navigate various delivery environments, from urban hubs to remote sites.

Reports to: Shipping Supervisor & Operations Manager

Essential Functions:

1. Transportation & Delivery

  • Long & Short Haul: Execute deliveries to a diverse customer base, ranging from local drop-offs to long-distance regional routes.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate a company truck and gooseneck trailer, ensuring mastery of wide turns, backing into tight docks, and maneuvering in industrial settings.
  • Route Planning: Utilize GPS and logistics software to determine the most efficient routes, accounting for weather, traffic, and delivery windows.

2. Cargo Integrity & Safety

  • Load Securement: Expertly strap, chain, and tarp sensitive aerospace and oilfield components to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to DOT regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) and electronic logging requirements.
  • Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough daily inspections of the vehicle and trailer (tires, brakes, fluids, lights) to ensure 100% road readiness.

3. Professionalism & Documentation

  • Customer Service: Act as the face of the company, providing professional and courteous interactions with client receiving departments.
  • Reporting: Maintaining accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and maintenance records.
  • Communication: Provide real-time updates to the manufacturing or dispatch team regarding delays or successful deliveries.

Licensing


Valid, up-to-date Driver’s License; Commercial Driver’s License Class A preferred.


Driving Record


Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no recent major infractions.


Experience


Proven experience pulling trailers; familiarity with gooseneck hitches is a plus.


Physical Ability


Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and assist with loading/unloading as needed.


Knowledge


Basic understanding of DOT safety regulations and cargo securement standards.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3 p.m., 40 hours per week, Overtime as required.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Graduate: A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement.
