If you thrive on solving mechanical and electrical puzzles in the field and enjoy being the go-to expert for customers, this role is for you. You’ll support a direct distribution team by servicing commercial laundry equipment across diverse business environments.
- Dispatched from your home to customer sites across the Knoxville, TN area
- Work settings include workout facilities, laundromats, hospitals, motels, and more
- Equipment: washers, dryers, ironers across multiple manufacturers
- Diagnose and repair on-premise laundry (OPL) and vended equipment.
- Replace parts and complete accurate service records (time and materials).
- Track travel details meticulously, including mileage and fuel purchases.
- Set clear expectations with customers and communicate job status.
- Work closely with the service manager, parts department, and vendors to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Uphold standards for tools, service equipment, and your company-supplied vehicle.
- Assist installation crews with deliveries and equipment set-up.
- Contribute to department efficiency with additional duties as needed.
- High school diploma/equivalent.
- 2+ years of mechanical repair experience (commercial laundry experience preferred; equivalent education/training/experience considered).
- Hands-on familiarity with electrical testing and diagnostic/programming tools.
- Preferred: Experience supporting customers via phone/email and ticketing dispatch systems.
- Preferred: Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude: read drawings and schematics; use multimeters confidently.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail; able to self-manage multiple jobs and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication; professional, positive, and customer-focused.
- Resilient and adaptive; proactive self-starter with strong work ethic.
- Frequent travel within the territory; some overnight trips for larger projects.
- Activities include sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, climbing, and manual dexterity.
- Frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.; assistive devices available for heavier loads.
- Regular talking, hearing, and hands-on work; computer-based documentation requiring close/adjusted vision.
- Must have a valid driver’s license. A company vehicle may be provided.
