Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Infant Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role involves supporting the development and care of infants in a nurturing and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, have reliability and be committed to fostering a positive learning atmosphere for our youngest learners.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities and lesson plans tailored for infants.
- Provide attentive care, including feeding, diapering, and comforting infants as needed.
- Support infants’ physical development through supervised tummy time, crawling, and other motor activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Observe and document developmental milestones and behavior patterns to inform teaching strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and needs.
- Participate in ongoing training related to childhood development, classroom management, and caregiving best practices.
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
- Knowledge of infant care routines, including feeding, diapering, and sleep schedules.
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- CPR training is preferred, can provide.
- Must pass background check and fingerprinting.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or special needs is desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills to create a nurturing and organized environment.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging with parents.
- Experience with caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is beneficial.
