Infant Assistant Teacher

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote infant development and curiosity
  • Provide attentive care to infants, including feeding, diapering, and soothing as needed
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for children
  • Engage with children through play, storytelling, music, and sensory activities that foster growth and learning
  • Monitor each infant’s progress and communicate observations to the teaching team for personalized support
  • Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create inclusive activities tailored for infants with diverse needs or disabilities

Recommended

  • Prior experience working with infants or in early childhood education settings such as daycare or preschool is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in infant care
  • Certification in first aid and CPR required; ongoing training encouraged
  • Experience working with children with special needs or disabilities is a plus
  • Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, compassion, and excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for caregiving, nurturing young children’s growth, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere
