Infant & Toddler Teacher

Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Nurturing Care & Instruction: Develop and implement age-appropriate, play-based activities that support cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development for infants and toddlers.
  • Classroom Routine Management: Manage daily care routines—including diapering, feeding, nap times, and transitions—with patience, warmth, and high professional standards.
  • Safe Environment: Maintain a safe, clean, and highly stimulating classroom environment that encourages safe exploration, sensory experiences, and discovery.
  • Parent Communication: Observe, assess, and document developmental milestones; communicate effectively and warmly with parents to offer complete peace of mind.
  • Guidance & Support: Apply positive guidance and behavior management techniques to foster social interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with co-owners, directors, and teaching colleagues to plan lessons that integrate inclusive practices for all diverse learners.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed child care center, daycare, or preschool setting is highly preferred.
  • Early Education Principles: Strong knowledge of early childhood development, responsive caregiving, and classroom management for ages 0–3.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively build trusting, secure relationships with children, families, and team members.
  • Safety First: Demonstrated commitment to child welfare, health and safety protocols, and California licensing standards.
  • Education: Must have completed a minimum of 12 Early Childhood Units with a minimum of 3 Infant/Toddler units.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to seamlessly connect with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
  • Childcare License & Certifications: Must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for a Lead Teacher (ECE units/credits). Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain them) are required. Must be able to pass the standard California Background check.
  • Ability to physically engage with active children, managing outdoor play, garden activities, and classroom routines with energy and enthusiasm.

This position's hours are 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday onsite.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
