Role Overview:

The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control policies and procedures within the hospital. This role involves educating staff, conducting surveillance, and collaborating with healthcare teams to minimize the risk of infections in patients and healthcare workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infection Surveillance:
  • Monitor and analyze infection rates and trends within the hospital.
  • Conduct regular surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and report findings to the Infection Control Officer.
  • Policy Development:
  • Develop and revise infection control policies and procedures based on current best practices and guidelines.
  • Ensure that policies are compliant with regulatory standards and institutional protocols.
  • Education and Training:
  • Provide education and training for healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices.
  • Conduct orientation programs for new employees regarding infection control protocols.
  • Risk Assessment:
  • Perform risk assessments to identify potential infection hazards within the hospital environment.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement strategies that mitigate identified risks.
  • Outbreak Investigation:
  • Investigate and manage outbreaks of infections within the hospital.
  • Work closely with the Infection Control Team and public health authorities to contain and control outbreaks.
  • Data Management:
  • Maintain accurate records of infection surveillance data and provide regular reports to hospital leadership.
  • Utilize data to identify trends and recommend improvements in infection control practices.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote a culture of safety and infection prevention.
  • Act as a resource for healthcare professionals regarding infection control issues and practices.
  • Compliance Monitoring:
  • Monitor compliance with infection control policies and practices among healthcare staff.
  • Conduct audits and provide feedback to nursing and medical staff on infection control practices.
  • Patient Education:
  • Educate patients and families about infection prevention measures and hygiene practices.
  • Provide guidance on the management of personal health conditions that may affect infection risk.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control.
  • Stay current with developments in infection control and prevention by attending conferences and professional development programs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹54,463.12 per month
