Position Description:

Are you passionate about education, prevention, and protecting both patients and staff?

Were seeking an Infection Control Nurse Educator to lead infection prevention efforts while coordinating education, orientation, and ongoing competency development for nursing and direct care staff. This role is essential to maintaining regulatory compliance, strengthening clinical practice, and promoting a culture of safety across the facility.

What Youll Do

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive orientation and education programs for nursing and direct care staff.
  • Coordinate individualized onboarding and competency assessments for new hires, new procedures, and annual evaluations.
  • Provide ongoing infection control education and in-service training to staff across departments.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff regarding best practices, infection prevention, and clinical standards.
  • Monitor and support compliance with infection control regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Conduct surveillance, evaluation, analysis, and reporting of infections and communicable conditions to leadership.
  • Analyze infection control data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions to improve outcomes.
  • Maintain and update infection control and employee health programs to align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives related to staff education and patient care quality.
  • Conduct clinical rounds in patient living areas to monitor adherence to infection control guidelines.
  • Stay current on infection control trends, evidence-based practices, and regulatory changes through continuing education and professional development.

What Were Looking For

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field (required)

Experience

  • Three (3) years of nursing experience (required)
  • Experience in nursing education and/or infection control (preferred)

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment or a recognized multi-state compact license (required)
