Job Summary
With a patient centered culture, the Informaticist will provide a positive experience to CUSTOMERS/PATIENTS/COMMUNITY through assuring the overall successful use of the current system, to include implementation of new functionality and software updates. Provides training & support to all users of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR)/Practice Management (PM) systems and related software programs. Ensures physicians, clinical staff, and administrative staff are trained properly in EMR/PM and assists in developing training programs for the rollout and on-going education pertaining to the use of EMR/PM software and related technologies. Analyzes system and user needs to determine and implement software requirements.
Responsibilities
Analysis and Solution Definition
Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of the organization and industry. Identifies the organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement. Develops functional requirements, specifications and system design specifications for business requests. Develops or oversees the development of system documentation, user manuals and training classes for the application suite. Creates and maintains detailed test plans and scripts. Leads testing efforts and ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
Project Execution
Evaluates current state processes and identifies gaps to future state process around utilization of applications to maximize departmental and organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Communicates and applies project standards. Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules. Takes input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback. Manages resources in accordance with project schedule. Consistently delivers high-quality services to business stakeholders. Understands the components of running a fiscally successful project.
Communication
Assists in the facilitation of team and client meetings. Delivers informative, well-organized presentations. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Participates in support on-call rotation.
Problem Solving
Prioritizes and resolves issues. Participates in escalation model as subject matter expert. Provides ongoing analysis, maintenance, and technical and functional support for application systems throughout the organization. Provides leadership and technical guidance to identify system deficiencies and analyze system problems and solutions. Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems. Collaborates with business stakeholders to introduce innovative solutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently and/or negligible amounts constantly. Must be willing to travel locally to other system locationsMust be willing to respond to major incidents and support 24/7.
At least two years’ clinical application experience as end user or informatics role. Advanced knowledge of Cerner Millennium and/or CPSI. Strong knowledge of clinical information systems, data management and administration. Knowledge of hospital/physician practice procedures and laws, regulation and guidelines. Familiarity with project management and support methodologies. Experience working effectively with clinicians and physicians.
