The
Pharmacy Informatics Analyst supports MD Anderson's medication-use systems by optimizing the technology that drives pharmacy and clinical workflows. This role collaborates with pharmacists, clinicians, and IT teams to build, maintain, and enhance EHR pharmacy modules (e.g., Epic Willow/Beacon), medication order sets, treatment plans, automated dispensing systems, and related clinical decision support tools. Responsibilities include system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, data accuracy, and workflow improvement to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant medication management across the institution.
Ideal Candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related business specialty and five years experience in data analysis, accounting or financial project management.Preferably, candidates will have at least two years of experience working with Epic software or domains, project management, or workflow analysis, as well as experience with Epic Willow software or BD software management.
Working Hours: This position will be a Hybrid model with expectation to be onsite as well as remote.

Job Specific Competencies
Pharmacy System Formulary, Medication Database & Inventory Administration-
Manage formulary standards and configuration across pharmacy automation platforms (e.g., automated dispensing cabinets, inventory management systems, infusion pumps).

Review and approve new builds, modifications, and deletions to ensure accurate medication configuration, safety compliance, and operational reliability.

Maintain change-control processes for formulary updates and ensure proper integration across automation systems.

Perform routine audits to identify discrepancies in build guidelines, medication attributes, and formulary alignment; initiate corrective actions as needed.

Support inventory management by maintaining preferred products, monitoring acquisition costs, and ensuring consistency with purchasing standards.

Contribute to required reporting (e.g., annual inventory, utilization trends, cost-tracking metrics).
Pharmacy System Access & Security Management-
Ensure secure, compliant, and role-appropriate access to pharmacy technology platforms through routine auditing and standards enforcement.

Create, monitor, and analyze system reports to assess user activity, identify issues, and evaluate opportunities for improvement.

Support development and refinement of access-monitoring standards to maintain regulatory alignment.

Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Pharmacy Automation Optimization, Expansion & Project Coordination-
Support the optimization, maintenance, and expansion of pharmacy automation technologies, including automated dispensing cabinets, inventory management software, infusion pump enhancements, and clinical interfaces.

Assist with coordination of automation-related projects, including scheduling, stakeholder communication, vendor collaboration, and onsite logistics.

Assist with inventory management activities, recalls, and optimization of automation tools to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Develop and deliver training for pharmacy staff, super users, and new team members on workflows, system enhancements, and best practices.

Onsite Presence
