Information Security Manager

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as an Information Security Manager. This position will be located in Rolla, MO.
Summary:
The Manager, Information Security is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity capabilities that protect enterprise IT systems, manufacturing environments, and research operations within the organization. This role leads the development and operation of security controls aligned with recognized frameworks such as NIST and ISO while ensuring protection of sensitive intellectual property, production systems, and supply chain operations. Responsibilities include monitoring and responding to security events, managing vulnerability and risk assessments, and supporting regulatory and customer-driven security requirements. The position collaborates closely with IT, engineering, manufacturing, and R&D teams to integrate security into infrastructure, operational technology environments, and business processes. The role also evaluates emerging threats and security technologies to continuously strengthen the organization’s overall security posture

Responsibilities:
  • Manager I, Information Security
  • Implement and maintain enterprise information security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with regulatory and industry requirements (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001).
  • Support the deployment and operation of security controls across enterprise IT, manufacturing networks, and laboratory environments.
  • Participate in risk assessments for new technologies, manufacturing systems, and chemical process automation platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM, endpoint protection, and network monitoring tools.
  • Coordinate incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and documentation of security events.
  • Maintain vulnerability management processes including scanning, prioritization, remediation tracking, and reporting.
  • Oversee security awareness training, and phishing simulation systems.
  • Assist in securing Operational Technology (OT) environments such as process control systems, industrial networks, and plant floor systems.
  • Work with engineering teams to implement network segmentation and security monitoring for production environments.
  • Support internal and external audits related to information security and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for security policies, system configurations, and risk assessments.
  • Assist with third-party risk assessments for vendors and partners supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in the evaluation and deployment of security tools and technologies.
  • Review system configurations and infrastructure designs to ensure security requirements are met.
  • Assist with identity and access management reviews and privilege controls.
  • Contribute to the development of security awareness materials relevant to manufacturing and R&D personnel.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure, engineering, and quality teams to integrate security into operational processes.
  • Same duties as Manager I, Information Security
  • Additional duties as Manager II, Information Security:
    • Design and mature enterprise security architecture supporting corporate IT systems, research laboratories, and manufacturing networks.
    • Develop and maintain security standards aligned with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and industry best practices.
    • Lead the integration of security controls into infrastructure, cloud platforms, and plant systems.
    • Develop and optimize detection capabilities across SIEM, EDR, network monitoring, and OT monitoring platforms.
    • Lead complex incident investigations including forensic analysis and root-cause determination.
    • Improve incident response processes, playbooks, and post-incident reviews.
    • Design security architectures for OT networks, industrial control systems, and manufacturing environments.
    • Implement segmentation, monitoring, and threat-detection strategies for plant-floor networks and process-automation systems.
    • Evaluate security risks related to chemical production systems, lab instrumentation, and engineering platforms.
    • Conduct enterprise security risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
    • Lead security assessments of new technologies, vendors, and manufacturing platforms.
    • Lead preparation for security audits, regulatory reviews, and customer security assessments related to semiconductor supply chain requirements.
    • Evaluate, select, and implement enterprise security technologies.
    • Drive automation and orchestration within the security program to improve operational efficiency.
    • Develop metrics and dashboards to measure security posture and program effectiveness.
    • Serve as a primary technical advisor to IT, engineering, manufacturing, and R&D teams on cybersecurity matters.
    • Integrate security requirements into system design, digital transformation initiatives, and manufacturing modernization efforts.
    • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams on vendor security requirements.
Managerial/Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team accountable for performance and results of a department.
  • Responsible for the success of departmental projects.
  • Participate in the hiring process, train, and mentor new team members.
  • Review and approve training requests, timecards, and expense reports.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance conversations.
  • Manage employee success by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, supporting professional development, and creating an environment of psychological safety and intentional inclusion.
  • Participate in continuous coaching development.
  • Communicate and coordinate alignment with other teams.
  • Implement the goals set by Senior management and accomplish key corporate objectives.
  • Direct, supervise, and coordinate employees and facilities to accomplish the group's functions; set goals for the group and other business units; and plan the use of materials and resources for efficient accomplishment of group functions.
  • Formulate and administer policies and procedures that have company-wide impact and/or significant impact on the company’s bottom line.
  • Forecast and submit budget requirements.
  • Deliver monthly progress reports of the department’s key metrics
Education & Credentials:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, and 8+ years related IT experience and
  • 2+ years management experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
