Lockheed Martin’s Classified Cybersecurity Cyber Security Asc / Information System Security Officer (ISSO) safeguards the sensitive data and warfighting capabilities that protect U.S. and allied interests. You’ll work side‑by‑side with cyber experts and military operators to perform classified cybersecurity duties supporting multiple programs and will assist in compliance through the implementation of mandatory information system security tasks on assigned information systems utilizing NISPOM, JSIG, DoD 8500, NIST, ICD, CNSSI, DAAPM, and other related DoD documents in support of development and operations.. In this fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment, you’ll deliver secure solutions, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents while exemplifying strong customer‑service, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
The Work

Duties will include but are not limited to:
Support ATO processes: Assist in drafting System Security Plans (SSP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and policy documents that align with RMF, NIST 800 53, DoD 8500, CNSSI 1253, NISPOM, and ICD guidance; help prepare evidence packages for government approvals and audit reviews.

Documentation & audit readiness: Compile and maintain required records for visits by DCSA ISSP, Special Program Security Control Assessors, DAAPM reviewers, and other DoD oversight entities; ensure all artifacts meet NISPOM/JSIG standards.

SETA program assistance: Contribute to the development and delivery of a Security Education, Training, and Awareness program that satisfies JSIG and DoD 8500 requirements; track user account compliance and periodic recertifications.

System hardening & monitoring: Apply baseline security settings to classified Windows, Unix/Linux, and other platforms per NIST 800 171/800 53 and DoD 8500; conduct weekly system audits, manage anti virus tools, and log findings for remediation.

Continuous monitoring: Participate in real time monitoring activities per NIST 800 137, alerting on incidents or vulnerabilities and supporting the response workflow.

Configuration management: Follow DoD 8500 and CNSSI configuration management procedures; assist in authorizing hardware/software changes, updating baselines, and performing risk assessments for new assets.

Enterprise initiatives: Engage in cross functional cybersecurity projects, ensuring alignment with DoD 8500, CNSSI, ICD, and related directives.

Certification maintenance: Hold and sustain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II (or higher) certification; stay current with updates to NISPOM, JSIG, DoD 8500, NIST, ICD, CNSSI, DAAPM, and other applicable DoD publications.

DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, CND, CCNA Security, GISCP, GSEC, or SSCP) – obtained within 6 months and kept current.

Active Secret clearance

Working knowledge of NIST 800 53, RMF, DoD 8500, CNSSI 1253, NISPOM/JSIG compliance frameworks.

Strong attention to detail; strict adherence to security policies and procedures.

Excellent written and oral communication – able to produce clear SSP, SOP, POA&M, and incident reports.

Basic networking concepts and hands on experience with security tools (e.g., Wireshark, vulnerability scanner, endpoint protection).

Team player mindset – organize and motivate diverse individuals; build effective customer and partner relationships.

Configuration management knowledge (e.g., SCCM, Ansible, PowerShell DSC).

Exposure to risk assessment techniques and mapping findings to mitigations.

Exposure to additional DoD directives (ICD, DAAPM) and related security disciplines.
