Minimum Qualifications

Associate s degree. One year of experience in Cybersecurity technology with a combination of end-user administration, system configuration, analysis, and support of Cybersecurity systems. Additional related work experience in Cybersecurity technology with a combination of end-user administration, system configuration, analysis, and support of Cybersecurity systems may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferences

  • Understanding of vulnerabilities, CVE, CVSS, and security concepts such as the OWASP Top 10.
  • General knowledge of networks, servers, operating systems, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Qualys, Rapid7, Tenable, Nmap, Wireshark, or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to Windows, Linux, firewalls, and core security technologies.
  • Experience with scripting or automation is a plus.

Miami-Dade County is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join the Enterprise Security Office. This position is an excellent entry point for individuals looking to build a career in cybersecurity and AI while contributing to the protection of critical public services.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gain hands-on exposure to modern security tools, and support key initiatives related to vulnerability management, threat awareness, and AI-enabled security operations across a large enterprise environment.

The primary objective of this role is to assist in identifying risk, supporting remediation efforts, and strengthening the County’s cybersecurity posture across infrastructure, applications, and core services.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting vulnerability scanning, triage, prioritization, and tracking of remediation efforts.
  • Assisting in the assessment of vulnerabilities and recommending actions based on business risk and operational impact.
  • Collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to support remediation through resolution.
  • Maintaining procedures, documentation, metrics, and reporting related to vulnerability management activities.
  • Researching emerging vulnerabilities, exploits, and threat trends impacting County systems.
  • Supporting blue team activities, including threat detection, monitoring, and defensive improvements.
  • Assisting with security automation and AI-enabled capabilities to improve operational efficiency and visibility.
  • Performing other cybersecurity-related duties as assigned.
