Information Technology Operations Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

The Hands-On Principal IT Operations & Infrastructure Lead is a highly critical, autonomous role responsible for all aspects of direct, expert execution and strategic oversight of the company's entire technology infrastructure and systems. This role requires deep, sustained technical involvement in the day-to-day management, maintenance, security, and optimization of all network, server, cloud, and end-user computing environments.

You will personally perform all core operational, administration, and infrastructure tasks. Key functions include performing complex system administration and network operations, designing and maintaining robust infrastructure, ensuring continuous compliance with NCA cyber standards, managing the entire IT budget, and driving infrastructure strategy from the ground up to support organizational objectives

Key Responsibilities:

Core Operations & Execution:

• Directly execute, plan, and manage the implementation, operation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure components across all facilities.
• Lead technical design and planning sessions and actively participate in the deployment and configuration of infrastructure systems (network, server, storage, security) to ensure high availability and performance.
• Act as the highest escalation point for complex operational and infrastructure issues and personally drive technical root cause analysis and resolution to minimize service disruption.
• Develop and enforce robust operational procedures and policies, actively ensuring all services and work products delivered by the department meet established quality and compliance standards.
• Hands-on resource allocation and performance optimization, providing direct guidance and mentorship to team members on technical best practices.

System Administration & Infrastructure

• Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot all core operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux), virtualization platforms, and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Directly manage and optimize the enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless systems, and VPNs to ensure high security and performance.
• Actively manage and test the disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) plans and infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and rapid service restoration in the event of an outage.
• Proactively monitor system health and capacity, performing hands-on tuning and upgrades to ensure scalability and reliability of the entire infrastructure stack.

Incident Management & Compliance:

• Establish and lead the Incident Management process, personally engaging in incident logging, tracking, and leading the team in identifying and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Proactively monitor and optimize overall systems performance and personally ensure continuous compliance with NCA cyber standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and technically support the team in providing robust and timely support for all employee hardware, software, and technical process queries, ensuring adherence to established SLAs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Years & Nature of Experience

• 10 years of progressive experience, with a significant portion in a hands-on System Administrator, Infrastructure, and technical lead role within a complex IT environment.
