Information Technology Section Head

Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the operations of the Information Technology Section at newly established government organization in Abu Dhabi within educational sector and setting general policies and strategies related to information and communication technology. This includes providing the necessary technical support to improve performance, implementing the best technical and technological solutions across all areas and activities of the academy in coordination with internal and external stakeholders, utilizing the latest applications and systems in the field of information security and protection policies, as well as providing technical support and technological solutions to meet the academy’s needs and achieve its goals.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Define IT objectives, initiatives, and operational plans; monitor performance and KPIs.
• Guide the IT team to improve service quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Develop and enforce IT processes, procedures, and documentation.
• Prepare and monitor the IT budget; manage HR needs, training, and staff performance.
• Oversee IT infrastructure (servers, networks, systems) for availability, reliability, and security.
• Evaluate new technologies and manage IT projects (software, system upgrades, infrastructure).
• Ensure technical support for staff and continuity of operations.
• Manage vendor relations and contract negotiations for IT solutions.
• Lead cybersecurity measures, disaster recovery, and risk mitigation.
• Align IT initiatives with organizational strategy and innovation goals.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or any related field

6–8 years of experience in Information Technology management in Education institutions
