Job Description

We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to join STC’s team of IT Support professionals. Working behind the scenes to support our Students, Faculty and Staff, this individual will resolve issues they encounter on a day-to-day basis and support STC’s business systems. This position needs to balance creative and technical problem-solving, customer service, and collaboration to ensure that personnel throughout the entire organization can access and utilize the software and resources they need for work. The general schedule is 1st shift Monday through Friday but may require occasional flexibility during projects and implementations. This is not a remote position. Candidate will be expected to commute to the campus every day. Although this role is based at our Fort Myers campus, we will be supporting campuses across the country.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve technical issues with hardware or software systems

Consult with end users to understand and troubleshoot technical issues

Assess user needs and recommend solutions like patches, upgrades or enhancements

Document and create technical support procedures and templates

Work directly with external vendor(s) as the main point of contact

Innovate to improve the customer experience and create a stronger company

Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voicemail, and e-mail requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies

Ensure security measures remain intact

Train end users on technology best practices

Minimum Experience/Qualifications

Associates Degree or currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or equivalent work experience required

Excellent technical, troubleshooting, and analytical skills

Ability to support Mac OS, Windows, IOS and Android systems

Good analytical and problem-solving skills, able to troubleshoot problems

Well organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities

Experience with networking and active directory in a large corporate environment

Strong macOS and Microsoft Windows 11 troubleshooting experience

Proficient with Microsoft 365

Good communication skills

Ability to multitask and adapt to new processes

Continuous learning and adaptation

Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, processes, and technologies

Takes ownership, is dependable, and follows through on commitments

Some after hours duties may be required.

Desired Experience

Ability to create and edit reports using Microsoft’s Report Builder and SQL Server Report Service (SSRS)

Knowledge of administering SharePoint, One Drive and Teams

Knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (AKA SCCM)

Knowledge of scripting with Powershell

Understanding of ITIL framework and processes

Working knowledge of Network configuration for routers, switches, VPN and firewalls and TCP/IP subnetting.

Working knowledge of Windows Server environment including File Sharing, DFS, Printing, DHCP and DNS

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
