Under the direction of Information Technology Manager II of the State Special Schools Support Office, the Information Technology Supervisor II is responsible for the information technology (IT) operations at the Deaf school in Fremont (CSDF), including the supervision of IT staff. The incumbent provides direction, leadership, and direct supervision to IT staff members at the California School for the Deaf, Fremont (CSDF). IT Supervisor II provides leadership and strategic direction for planning, implementation and support of technology system that enhance and sustain school operations and education goals. This position ensure the effective and secure functioning of the school's IT infrastructure while fostering innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. The IT Supervisor also will lead aligning technology initiatives with the school's mission and long term goals.

Working Conditions

Climate-controlled and office and under artificial light; exposure to computer screens and other basic office equipment; high-pressure fast-paced environment, under time critical deadlines; may be required to sit for long periods of time using a keyboard and video display terminal; requires the ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships, operate various office machines, stand, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds. Occasional travel to attend to attend meetings.

Department Information

The California School for the Deaf, Fremont CSDF) is one of 6 State Special Schools under the Department of Education. Located on a 96-acre campus shared with the California School for the Blind and the Diagnostic Center, North, we are a short walk from BART and have free employee parking.

Fluency in American Sign Language, or commitment to learn is highly desired.

Statement of Qualifications

INSTRUCTIONS
