Role Overview

The Infrastructure Hardware & Asset Management Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of ICT infrastructure hardware and assets supporting SFM Sports Venues. This includes assets related to HCI platforms, cloud infrastructure, CCTV systems, and core ICT services .

The role ensures operational readiness, compliance, and high availability , particularly during live events and venue operations , through accurate asset tracking, proactive maintenance, and effective coordination with internal teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure & Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of ICT infrastructure assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, refresh, and retirement .
  • Oversee assets such as servers, HCI nodes, switches, firewalls, UPS, AV equipment, and related infrastructure hardware .
  • Ensure all assets are properly tagged, labeled, documented, and compliant with company standards.
  • Maintain spare inventory to support urgent replacements during live events.

2. HCI, Cloud & CCTV Asset Management

  • Manage lifecycle and inventory of HCI, storage, and networking assets .
  • Track cloud-based assets (VMs, storage, networking components), including licenses and subscriptions.
  • Coordinate with cloud teams for provisioning, scaling, and decommissioning of resources.
  • Oversee inventory and lifecycle management of CCTV cameras, NVRs, access control, and security hardware .
  • Maintain accurate asset records and documentation for all surveillance systems.

3. Event Operations & Infrastructure Support

  • Provide Level 2 support for hardware and asset-related issues during live events.
  • Coordinate with ICT, security, and venue operations teams to ensure asset readiness before, during, and after events.
  • Support rapid deployment, recovery, and replacement of critical infrastructure assets.
  • Assist with incident response and troubleshooting to maintain service availability.

4. IT Asset Management (ITAM) Tools & Systems

  • Administer and maintain ITAM platforms such as Matrix42, ServiceNow, SCCM/MECM, Freshservice, or equivalent .
  • Ensure asset discovery tools (agent-based and agentless) function correctly.
  • Maintain accurate CMDB data, asset reconciliation, and lifecycle status updates.
  • Generate asset reports for audits, budgeting, compliance, and capacity planning.
  • Support asset disposal processes in line with company and environmental policies.

5. Procurement, Vendor & Warranty Coordination

  • Coordinate with procurement for hardware acquisition, renewals, AMCs, and warranty claims .
  • Review technical specifications to ensure compliance with venue and operational requirements.
  • Manage vendor engagements for repairs, replacements, and warranty services.
  • Ensure timely delivery and readiness of hardware for scheduled events.

6. Audit, Compliance & Reporting

  • Conduct periodic physical audits and reconcile infrastructure assets across venues.
  • Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with IT asset management policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain audit-ready asset records and lifecycle documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Experience

  • Experience managing HCI, cloud, CCTV, and core ICT infrastructure assets .
  • Hands-on experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools such as Matrix42, ServiceNow, SCCM/MECM, or Lansweeper.
  • Understanding of CMDB concepts, asset discovery, and data reconciliation .
  • Experience supporting large-scale or event-based environments is an advantage.
  • Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology , or a related field.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • ITIL Foundation certification.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong asset documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in event-driven environments
  • Familiarity with HCI, cloud platforms, CCTV, and infrastructure technologies
  • Knowledge of Windows Client, Windows Server, and Red Hat Linux for ITAM integration
  • Effective collaboration with ICT, security, procurement, vendors, and venue operations teams
