We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor cum Planning Engineer with strong experience in both quantity surveying and project planning using Primavera (P6) for water pipeline and infrastructure projects in the UAE. The ideal candidate will manage commercial, cost, and planning functions to ensure accurate project control, timely reporting, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities: Quantity Surveying Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
- Liaise with the site team to record daily progress and prepare monthly progress payments in coordination with the Consultant Engineer.
- Prepare interim payment applications and final accounts for client submission.
- Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Measure, value, and certify subcontractor works.
- Evaluate variations, claims, and change orders as per contract requirements.
- Conduct site visits to verify completed works against submitted claims.
- Prepare monthly cost and value reconciliation reports.
- Provide commercial and financial inputs for project progress reports.
Planning & Scheduling Responsibilities (Primavera P6)
- Develop, update, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare baseline programmes, recovery schedules, and revised schedules where required.
- Track project progress, identify deviations, and propose mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with site teams to obtain progress data and update planning deliverables.
- Prepare weekly/monthly planning reports including progress curves, S-curves, histograms, and look-ahead schedules.
- Integrate cost and schedule data for effective project control and forecasting.
- Support management in strategic decisions through accurate planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- 1–5 years of UAE/GCC experience in quantity surveying and planning for water pipeline and infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, QS software, and online project portals.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
