Innovation & Research Commons Student Assistant

Overview:
Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Student Assistant in the Innovation & Research Commons (I&RC) unit. This role supports faculty, staff, and students by contributing to the daily operations of the unit. Student assistants may work up to 20 hours per week, depending on operational needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct service to library patrons at the I&RC Help Desk, including checking technology equipment in and out, answering questions, and directing patrons as needed.
  • Assist patrons with wide-format printing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the I&RC.
  • Assist patrons with the use of and provide basic troubleshooting for hardware, including but not limited to PC and Mac desktop computers, laser printers, wide-format inkjet printers, and flatbed and large-format scanners/plotters.
  • Assist patrons in locating microforms and operating microform reader/printers.
  • Conduct inventory and maintain lists of technology lending equipment.
  • Conduct inventory of the I&RC book collection.
