Schedule: Fulltime Days, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pmPrimary Purpose
Provides leadership to staff and operational support in inpatient clinical specialty treatment areas.
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONSEducation:Must have one of the following:-
Bachelor's degree in physical therapy from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited university.

Master's degree in Speech - Language Pathology from an accredited university; with completion of a nine-month clinical fellowship.
Experience:- Must have five years' experience as a therapist to include one year demonstrating leadership abilities.
- Three years inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
Certification/Registration/Licensure:- Must have current licensure as a Physical Therapist with the Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for Texas OR

Must be registered as an Occupational Therapist by the State of Texas OR

Must be licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech - Language Pathology and Audiology and have completed all requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) issued by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).

Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:

American Heart Association

American Red Cross Rescuer
-
Military Training Network.

Must have Quality Indicator Credentialing Exam within 30 days of placement in job.

Responsibilities:- Coordinates the computerized completion of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility - Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI). Oversees the running of the software and edits IRF-PAIs for all patients. Compares actual knowledge of the care provided to the patient and the information contained on the IRF-PAI. Makes all changes to the IRF-PAI to correctly reflect a three-day summary of the functional status and 24-hours care needs of the patient. Encodes the IRF-PAI and electronically transmits the IRF-PAI within identified time frames. Keeps clinical team apprised of the length of stay relative to the patients Case Mix Group (CMG).

Coordinates the completion of the admission assessment of the IRF-PAI by the fourth day of the patient's stays and the 5th day following discharge for each inpatient rehabilitation patient. May require discussions/interactions (written or verbal) with various staff members concerning differences in reported functional status to complete the IRF-PAI. Assures that the IRf-PAI accurately reflects the functional status and 24-hour care needs of the patient in order to have compliance with reporting.

Performs audits on IRF-PAI, clinical documentation and billing information to assure accuracy and consistency of documentation. Gives feedback to the appropriate supervisor on audit results.

Utilizes software information to assist in the monitoring of patients progress within the program and program evaluation/outcomes measurement. Distributes this information to other identified members of the rehabilitation management team.

Assists in the identification and generation of management reports for clinical administration and other administrative groups.

Assists management of Inpatient Rehabilitation and the Medical Director in identifying and monitoring trends in patient care as identified through the IRF-PAI.

Responsible for training all rehabilitation clinical staff on the appropriate use of Quality Indicators and other documentation tools.

Completes discharge follow up data collection and analysis.

Collects and analyzes data for departmental initiatives and projects.
