Inquiry Draftsman

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Inquiry Draftsman to review customer inquiries, prepare technical drawings, analyze project requirements, and support the estimation and sales teams with accurate documentation. The ideal candidate should have strong drafting skills, the ability to interpret technical specifications, and experience in preparing drawings for quotations and project proposals.

Key Responsibilities

• Review client inquiries, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Prepare technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD.
• Analyze project requirements and coordinate with the estimation team.
• Prepare material take-offs and support cost estimation activities.
• Develop shop drawings and technical submittals for customer approval.
• Coordinate with sales, procurement, and production departments regarding project requirements.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications and company standards.
• Revise drawings based on client feedback and engineering requirements.
• Maintain records of inquiries, drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
• Assist in preparing quotations, proposals, and tender submissions.
• Communicate with clients and consultants regarding technical clarifications.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in drafting, estimation support, or technical sales.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings and construction/manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in joinery, furniture, construction, aluminum, steel, or manufacturing industries.
• Knowledge of BOQ preparation and material estimation.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Experience with SketchUp, Revit, or SolidWorks is an advantage.
