Summary/objective

We are seeking a driven and motivated sales professional looking for an exciting opportunity to grow with a well-established flooring company. This position offers the opportunity to earn not only a competitive hourly wage but also commission based on performance. The Inside Salesperson is responsible for consistently delivering outstanding customer service, driving sales growth, and fostering lasting customer relationships. This role includes actively selling products in the showroom as well as assisting customers with granite countertop selections from the granite yard, ensuring a seamless and informative purchasing experience across both environments.

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, guiding them through the product selection process in both the showroom and granite yard, and resolving inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist customers with flooring and granite countertop selections, including reviewing samples, coordinating measurements, and ensuring a seamless sales experience from start to finish.
  • Develop accurate quotes in collaboration with estimators, follow up with customers using established procedures, and actively work to close sales.
  • Process sales transactions and perform accurate data entry, including customer orders, pricing, quotations, inventory checks, and branch transfers.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate customer and sales records in the system, ensuring all information is easily retrievable.
  • Manage open orders and quotes in accordance with company policy to ensure timely follow-up, customer satisfaction, and maximum sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate and execute order entry, including assigning in-stock materials, placing special orders, and scheduling transfers as needed.
  • Monitor order progress, follow up with customers, and resolve issues proactively to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of product offerings, inventory levels, and product applications to effectively assist customers and drive sales.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding products, services, timelines, and company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the showroom, sales floor, warehouse, and surrounding property, including merchandising, sample displays, and pricing labels.
  • Perform warehouse-related duties as needed, including receiving, inspecting, and verifying product quality and accuracy against purchase orders.
  • Complete all required paperwork for pickups and receiving, and properly tag and store inventory.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels.

Work environment:
Retail, store environment, may have a warehouse attached (heat/cold)

Physical demands: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing

Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching

Reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

Travel required: Occasionally between stores (mileage reimbursement available)


Required education and experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Customer Service experience
  • Sales experience
  • Computer literate, Google Suite, Gmail, Microsoft Office


Preferred education and experience:

  • Knowledge of Rollmaster
  • Flooring knowledge/background
