Sedlock Insurance Agency is a boutique, family-owned independent insurance brokerage based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. THE ROLE

We're hiring an Inside Sales Agent to work from our Chattanooga office, helping warm prospects, referrals, and existing clients find the right coverage. You'll spend most of your day on the phone, on Zoom, and in email — running quotes, walking clients through their options, and writing new business across personal lines, commercial, and life.

This is a great fit for someone who loves helping people, communicates clearly, and finds satisfaction in doing the homework to get a recommendation right. If you're looking for a high-pressure, smile-and-dial boiler room, this isn't it. If you want to build a real career educating clients and being part of a tight, mission-driven team, keep reading.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Respond promptly to inbound leads, referrals, and quote requests
  • Gather information, run quotes across multiple carriers, and present options in plain English
  • Educate clients on coverage — what's included, what's excluded, and what's appropriate for their situation
  • Write new personal lines, commercial, and life policies
  • Round accounts and identify cross-sell opportunities for existing clients
  • Follow up consistently and keep your pipeline organized in our agency management system
  • Build relationships with referral partners and clients so they refer their friends, family, and coworkers
  • Coordinate with our service team for smooth handoffs after the sale

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Strong communicator — clear on the phone, polished in writing, comfortable on video
  • Honest, dependable, and coachable
  • Naturally curious and willing to learn the technical side of coverage
  • Organized enough to follow up without dropping the ball
  • Comfortable with technology (CRM, agency management systems, email, video)
  • Aligned with our values — service-first, integrity, treating people the way you'd want to be treated
  • High school diploma or equivalent required Insurance experience and a Tennessee Property & Casualty (and/or Life) license are great if you have them — but not required. We're happy to sponsor licensing for the right person and will support you through the processs
