Job Overview:
The Inside Sales Specialist III performs all core inbound lead-handling duties (responding to inbound inquiries received via digital web forms, web chat and phone channels) and leads outbound prospecting, pipeline development, and ownership of select sales opportunities. This position closes smaller transactional deals (parts, service packages, and small equipment) within predefined commercial guardrails and drives structured outbound calling for targeted customer lists, campaigns, dormant opportunities and vertical-specific initiatives.

This role provides peer coaching to other Inside Sales team members, improving processes, and representing Inside Sales in cross-functional discussions. This position is a key development step toward outside sales or related field sales roles.

Responsibilities:
Inbound Lead Response & Qualification

  • Respond to inbound inquiries (web, chat, phone) within established SLAs using approved communication templates
  • Conduct structured lead qualification to understand application, urgency, location, and product interest
  • Capture complete and accurate customer information and qualification notes in the CRM, ensuring high data integrity
  • Convert qualified leads into Opportunities, assign correct owners, and ensure clear documentation
  • Gather required details for quotes to finalize pricing
  • Perform advanced qualification on complex or high-value inbound inquiries, ensuring clear understanding of application, urgency and commercial requirements


Nurture Follow-Up & Customer Engagement

  • Execute nurture follow-up for inbound leads including lead clarification questions, information sharing, quote reminders and clarifications and status updates.
  • Send approved templates and reference materials to maintain customer engagement prior to handoff
  • Document all interactions and customer responses to support downstream sales teams, customer service and other support functions
  • Support closed loop issue resolution activities
  • Handle escalated inbound cases requiring deeper product knowledge, nuanced customer guidance or commercial judgment


Outbound Prospecting & Pipeline Development

  • Execute outbound sequences using structured touch patterns (email, phone) designed for insight gathering and opportunity creation
  • Document customer needs, market signals, competitor mentions and trends surfacing during outbound work
  • Support vertical campaigns, product launches, and promotional pushes with proactive outreach
  • Conduct follow-up outreach to accelerate pipeline progression
  • Identify and develop net-new opportunities through structured outbound touch patterns


CRM Excellence & Funnel Management

  • Identify missing details or inconsistencies in lead information and proactively resolve them.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and close dates for opportunities in personal pipeline
  • Update dispositions accurately (Won, Lost) in alignment with Opportunity Owners
  • Deliver budgetary quotes and coordinate handoff with appropriate sales channels
  • Own low-complexity transactional opportunities end-to-end, including quoting, follow-up and closing within approved commercial thresholds
  • Collaboration with Outside Sales and Technical Support for higher complexity needs (part number validation, substitutions, legacy components)
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and outsourced manufacturing quotes when required
  • Accelerate in-flight opportunities through proactive outreach, quote follow-ups and timeline confirmation
  • Provide basic product fit guidance, delivery information, and pricing within approved thresholds
  • Verify pricing accuracy, validate margins and resolve any costing discrepancies in personal pipeline


Team Support, Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Partner with the Inside Sales Manager for coaching, shadowing and skills development for Inside Sales Specialist I and II
  • Share recurring inbound questions or trends with the team to support process and messaging improvements
  • Support Marketing with feedback on lead quality, campaign alignment, and customer trends
  • Support onboarding activities for new Inside Sales Specialist team members
  • Serve as a subject matter expert resource for Inside Sales


Continuous Improvement

Partner with the Inside Sales Manager to identify opportunities to improve response templates, qualification questions, routing rules, support standardization and process improvements.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of experience in inside sales, sales development, customer support, or comparable commercial roles
  • 2+ years of experience with industrial rotating equipment, including blowers and vacuums


Core Competencies:

  • Proven track record of meeting SLA targets and handling high inbound volume
  • Strong qualification and consultative conversation skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple inbound and outbound tasks simultaneously
  • High proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
  • Demonstrated commercial judgment and comfort handling small opportunity ownership
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor peers


Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Communications, Marketing, Engineering, or related field)
  • 2–5 years experience in inside sales, sales development, customer support, or comparable commercial roles


Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

  • This position will be remote within in the United States
  • Minimal anticipated travel (team trainings/events)
  • Must be able to work Eastern or Central time zone business hours


Pay Range:
The total pay range for this role, not including incentive opportunities, is $75,000 - $100,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive discretionary annual incentive compensation.
