Inside Sales / Estimator – Viking Distribution (East Providence, RI)

Position Summary
Viking Distribution is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Inside Sales / Estimator to join our team. This is a key role as a inside sales/estimator supporting the sales process with accurate estimates, product knowledge, and exceptional customer service. You’ll work directly alongside the company’s owners, giving you unique insight into operations and long-term growth opportunities. If you have specific experience in any of our product categories, you may be a candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Inside sales/estimator
• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates and material take-offs for building products including:
• Windows & Doors
• Roofing
• Siding
• Decking/Railing
• Cabinetry
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
• Manage order entry, generate quotes, and coordinate order fulfillment.
• Maintain strong product knowledge of key exterior product lines and stay updated on industry trends.
• Work closely with contractors, builders, and homeowners to recommend the best solutions based on project needs.
• Utilize technology including CRM systems, estimating software, and Excel to streamline quoting and tracking.
• Provide clear and professional communication across internal teams and external clients.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and support business growth.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in building materials sales, estimating, or construction.
• Strong knowledge of any of our product offering such as windows, doors, roofing, siding, decking, railing, cabinetry and more.
• Proficient in reading architectural drawings and material lists.
• Tech-savvy—comfortable using estimating tools, CRM software, Microsoft Excel, and digital catalogs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to explain technical details clearly.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset—ready to work closely with ownership.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn and grow within the company.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
