Overview

The Geotechnical Inspector is responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with geotechnical specifications and standards during all phases of the infrastructure construction project. This role involves conducting field inspections, reviewing soil and material testing, and verifying that earthworks and foundation activities meet design and safety requirements.

Your role

  • Perform on-site inspections of excavation, backfilling, compaction, and foundation works.
  • Monitor soil conditions and verify compliance with geotechnical design specifications.
  • Review and interpret geotechnical reports, drawings, and test results.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve geotechnical issues.
  • Ensure proper implementation of ground improvement techniques and slope stabilization measures.
  • Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports for project records.
  • Verify that testing (e.g., soil density, moisture content, bearing capacity) is conducted as per standards.
  • Enforce safety and quality control measures related to geotechnical activities.

About you

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in geotechnical inspection for infrastructure or heavy civil projects in Riyadh, KSA.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and ground improvement techniques.
    • Familiarity with geotechnical testing methods and standards (ASTM, IS codes, etc.).
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in geotechnical testing or inspection preferred.
  • Other Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and reports.
    • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Worked on large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, etc.).
  • Experience with geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring systems.
