The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill an Institution Superintendent position. This position can be headquartered at either the Division of Juvenile Corrections central office in Madison, Wisconsin or at the Milwaukee Youth Facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Under the general supervision of the Administrator/Assistant Administrator of the Division of Juvenile Corrections (DJC), serves as the chief executive officer of Type 1 Juvenile Correctional Facilities and the GROW Academy, facilities for adjudicated adolescent males and females committed by courts for placement in the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC). This position supervises multi-disciplinary administrative staff and is responsible for the overall planning, operation, direction, evaluation and management of Type 1 Facilities and the GROW Academy and attendant programs, including budget, fiscal, physical plant and security, as well as education, treatment, religious, recreation, contractual services and other auxiliary program services. Furthermore, this position is responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of multi-dimensional programs utilizing directives and administrative rules of the Department of Corrections and the statutes of the State of Wisconsin.
This position is in pay schedule and range 81-01 with a starting annual salary of $124550 - $131664 plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A two year career executive trial period is required.
