While the office is located in Bensenville, we serve a network of 18 Lutheran schools across Chicago. CLEF is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring our students, teachers, leaders and schools have the tools they need to grow, thrive and succeed.

Position Overview:

Are you adept at building and maintaining close relationships with educators? Work effectively on the go? Authentically committed to students and their futures?

CLEF is committed to bolstering better ways of teaching in ECE-Grade12 classrooms. At the direction of the principal, Instructional Coaches work alongside classroom teachers on a weekly basis through a series of instructional playbooks, skyrocketing the trajectory of pedagogy with the aim of student mastery in core subjects.

This open position places an Instructional Coach into two schools for a total of fourteen hours per week. This coach will focus on early learning, guiding teachers of three-year-olds to age 8 students (Preschool through Grade 3).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • maintain a weekly presence in and become an integral part of the assigned partner school(s), observing, coaching, modeling, demonstrating, and discussing best practices for 21st Century learning
  • contribute to the discourse to the academy of CLEF Instructional Coaches, meeting twice each month
  • meet weekly with the principal or director to collaboratively grow professionally in coaching and pedagogical practices;
  • facilitate whole group sessions, grade-level band meetings and concept-specific breakout sessions for each school’s professional development design;
  • participate in vertical teaming clusters from PK-8 from partner schools;
  • fulfill all hourly in-school and on-campus commitments weekly;
  • maintain consistent communication with Director of Academic Excellence;
  • complete coaching log as a running record in google shared docs (twice -monthly)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree/advanced study within the educational field preferred.
  • Valid professional educator’s license.
  • Minimum of four years teaching in K-8 public, charter, or private schools required.
  • Previous instructional coaching experience preferred.
  • Excellent relationship-building, problem solving, and collaboration skills.
  • A proven record of supporting academic excellence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient level of technology skills aligned with job responsibilities

Compensation:

Independent Contractor compensation is renewable on a year-by-year basis, pending successful coaching performance. Starting rate is $43.00 per hour.

Job Type: Part-time, Independent Contractor
