Instructional Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Designer with a strong background in online course development and online education. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, and implementing online courses across various disciplines. A solid understanding of Learning Management System (LMS) administration is highly preferred. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of our online programs and ensuring that our courses meet the highest standards of instructional design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Course Design and Development: Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and revise online courses that align with institutional goals and learning objectives.
  • Instructional Materials Creation: Develop instructional materials, including multimedia content, assessments, and interactive learning activities, that promote student engagement and achievement.
  • LMS Integration: Assist in the integration and organization of course content within our LMS ensuring seamless navigation and accessibility for students.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks and user testing to ensure all course components function correctly and meet accessibility standards.
  • Faculty Support and Training: Provide training and ongoing support to faculty in best practices for online teaching and the use of instructional technologies.
  • LMS Administration (Preferred): If applicable, manage aspects of LMS administration, including course setup, user management, troubleshooting, and customization to meet instructional needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in online education, instructional design, and educational technology to continuously improve our online course offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:

o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, specifically in online course development.

o Proven experience working with various LMS platforms.

o Experience with multimedia authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.).

o Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty and staff to design effective online learning experiences.

o Experience in LMS administration, including course setup, user management, and technical troubleshooting.

o Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
