SKG Consulting Services supports Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) across Australia with compliance, documentation, and training solutions. We are looking for a skilled Instructional Designer with strong document design capabilities to join our team and help create high-quality learning and compliance documents.

About the Role

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and reviewing a range of RTO documents. This role suits someone who is detail-oriented and creative.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and format high-quality training and assessment documents (assessment tools, session plans, mapping documents, learning materials, etc.).
• Review and redesign existing RTO documents to ensure clarity, compliance, and visual appeal.
• Apply instructional design principles to create engaging and easy-to-follow materials.
• Create compliant documentation aligned with training package requirements and RTO Standards.
• Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and the compliance team to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure all documents follow branding, style guides, and version control processes.
• Improve layout, readability, and UX-style formatting of learning and compliance documents.
• Maintain updated knowledge of ASQA, 2025 RTO Standards, and VET compliance expectations.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Experience as an Instructional Designer, Learning Designer, or Educational Content Developer.
• Strong document formatting and layout design skills (Word, Canva, Adobe, or similar).
• Excellent written communication and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret units of competency and develop aligned learning content.

Desirable:

• Experience in the Australian VET sector (RTOs, compliance, assessment).
• Knowledge of 2025 Standards for RTOs.
• Graphic design or UX document design experience.
