Instructional Faculty of Design and Entrepreneurship

The Instructional Faculty of Design and Entrepreneurship, housed within the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE) Program, will lead the design and delivery of a university-wide flagship course titled Design, Innovation and Impact. While this course will constitute the faculty member’s primary instructional responsibility, the role will also include teaching and contributing to other TIE Program offerings as needed. The position emphasizes experiential, project-based learning and draws on real-world startup and innovation experience to equip students across disciplines with practical skills in human-centered design, venture creation, prototyping, business modeling, and technology commercialization.

The major accountabilty is to: Serve as the primary instructor for the university wide Design, Innovation and Impact course, Develop, update, and continuously improve course content, learning materials, and assessments. Contribute to the instruction of additional courses, workshops, or modules within the TIE Program. Design hands-on studio experiences, venture projects, and industry-engaged challenges. Mentor student startup teams affiliated with TIE programs and accelerators. Coordinate guest speakers, entrepreneurs-in-residence, and industry mentors. Collaborate with faculty across the university to embed innovation and entrepreneurship in disciplinary contexts. Assess learning outcomes and support accreditation and quality assurance processes. Contribute to co-curricular innovation activities, competitions, hackathons, and accelerators. Support partnerships with industry, venture funds, and innovation ecosystems. Participate in service activities related to TIE Program growth and educational innovation.

Master’s degree required; PhD or DBA preferred in entrepreneurship, design, engineering, business, innovation studies, or a related field. Demonstrated preparation in entrepreneurship education, design methodologies, or innovation pedagogy. Prior university-level teaching and curriculum development experience strongly preferred.
