Duties And Responsibilities
The Instructor of English Language will be expected to:

Teach English language service courses (e.g., Academic English, EAP, ESP, Communication Skills) to undergraduate students from a range of academic disciplines.

Support students’ development of reading, writing, listening, speaking, and academic study skills appropriate to university-level learning.

Apply sound TESOL / ESL / EFL pedagogical approaches suitable for higher education learners.

Contribute to the design, review, and continuous improvement of skill-oriented English language courses, ensuring alignment with program learning outcomes and institutional benchmarks.

Prepare and update course syllabi, instructional materials, assessments, and learning resources in line with best practices.

Employ educational technologies and digital platforms to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.

Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students, with particular sensitivity to bilingual and multilingual learners.

Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum review processes, and quality assurance activities.

Engage in ongoing professional development and remain current with developments in English language teaching and applied linguistics.

Contribute positively to the collegial and academic environment of the College and the University.
Qualifications And Experience
Applicants must meet the following
minimum requirements
:

Native proficiency in English (Anglophone).
-
A Master’s degree (MA) in English Language, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.

5–10 years of teaching experience in higher education, preferably in university-level ESL/EFL contexts.

Demonstrated experience teaching English to non-English-major students enrolled in academic or professional programs.

A recognized TESOL certification or equivalent professional teaching qualification.

Proven experience in curriculum development, course review, and assessment design for skill-based English language courses.

Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are desirable:

Experience teaching bilingual or multilingual students, particularly those from Arabic-speaking backgrounds.

Familiarity with CEFR-aligned curricula and outcomes-based assessment.

Prior experience in international or Gulf-region higher education institutions.

Ability to adapt teaching strategies to culturally diverse learning environments.

Evidence of sustained engagement in professional development related to English language teaching.
