Instructor - Dress Making

Job Description:

  • Responsible for providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the institute
  • Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in a Sewing teaching discipline.
  • Use teaching methods which are appropriate to reach students of varying educational experiential backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
  • Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes
  • Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course outcomes.
  • Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the Course Syllabus Guidelines
  • Facilitates a clear understanding between student and instructor of the content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods and schedule of work.
  • Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning.
  • Maintain daily attendance rosters.
  • Participate in faculty orientation sessions, professional development seminars and activities to enhance professional development.
  • Accept the responsibility for professional awareness and growth
  • Perform all other duties appropriate to this position as assigned or directed.

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate
  • One year Diploma in dressmaking
  • 5 year Experience of teaching in the discipline.
  • Experience/ability to incorporate technology into the classroom.
