Responsible for providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the institute
Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in a Sewing teaching discipline.
Use teaching methods which are appropriate to reach students of varying educational experiential backgrounds and learning styles.
Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes
Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course outcomes.
Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the Course Syllabus Guidelines
Facilitates a clear understanding between student and instructor of the content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods and schedule of work.
Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning.
Maintain daily attendance rosters.
Participate in faculty orientation sessions, professional development seminars and activities to enhance professional development.
Accept the responsibility for professional awareness and growth
Perform all other duties appropriate to this position as assigned or directed.
Qualifications:
Intermediate
One year Diploma in dressmaking
5 year Experience of teaching in the discipline.
Experience/ability to incorporate technology into the classroom.
