Job Purpose: Welding instructors are responsible for teaching students the skills they need to become certified welders. They may also be responsible for developing curriculum and course materials, as well as evaluating student performance.
Duties and responsibilities
Teaching & Training
- Teaching students about various welding techniques and applications, including fusion welding, metal cutting, and joining metal components together
- Conducting hands-on training in welding techniques and practices, including safety procedures
- Demonstrating how to use welding equipment properly to prevent injuries or damage to materials
- Providing vocational training for individuals seeking careers as welders in industry or specialized fields such as shipbuilding or construction
- Teaching students the fundamentals of welding, including arc welding, gas welding, and laser welding
- Maintaining a safe and productive learning environment by enforcing safety rules and regulations
- Developing a curriculum that incorporates welding theory with practical application
Qualifications
- Education: BE (fresh)/ B-Tech (1-3 years of experience)/ DAE (3-5 years of experience)
- Specialized knowledge: Preferably having both training and industry experience
