Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor at the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Job Role / Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Programme, School of Nursing and Midwifery, you will be responsible for:

  • teaching assigned theoretical and clinical undergraduate nursing courses;
  • supervising students during clinical teaching and supporting theory-to-practice integration
  • designing course grids including curriculum structure, teaching-learning strategies, assessments, and schedules
  • reviewing and updating curriculum using evidence-based and innovative teaching approaches
  • assessing student performance through assignments, examinations, and clinical evaluations
  • providing formative and summative feedback to support student learning and progression
  • identifying learning challenges and recommending appropriate academic support strategies
  • providing academic advising and counseling to undergraduate nursing students
  • engaging in research activities as a co-investigator and supporting dissemination initiatives
  • participating in SONAM committees and contributing to academic governance
  • engaging in program-related activities, meetings, and faculty development workshops
  • performing additional academic and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

You should have:

  • a Master’s degree (MScN preferred; MSc in MPH, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Health Policy & Management acceptable) with a basic nursing qualification (BScN/Post-RN/Diploma in Nursing)
  • an active licensure with the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC)
  • a minimum of 2 years of clinical community experience including 2 years as a faculty and/or MScN/MPhil/MEd/MSc/in MPH, Epi
  • published at least one research paper in an Indexed Journal in the last 2 years
  • an ability to demonstrate clinical competence as a professional nurse and an effective role model
  • sound conceptual knowledge of nursing/field of specialization and ability to integrate theory into practice
  • a good teaching skills & knowledge of new teaching methodologies & practices
  • knowledge of current research methodologies, and an ability to initiate research
  • an ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with course participants
  • a good academic writing & presentation skills
  • fluency in English & Urdu and an ability to communicate in other regional languages would be an advantage
  • proficiency in the use of computers and related computer software packages
  • a good conceptual and analytical skills
  • knowledge of educational leadership and management
  • planning & organizing skills
  • excellent interpersonal skills & ability to work with teams
  • commitment to learning and growth, and pursue improvement.
