Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor at the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

This is a part-time position.

Job Role / Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Nursing Education, SONAM, you will be responsible for:

• coordinating multiple non-nursing courses, ensuring effective curriculum planning, delivery, assessment, and overall course administration
• designing comprehensive course plans, including curriculum structure, teaching strategies, assessments, and class schedules
• developing and delivering lectures and other learning activities using innovative and student-centered teaching methodologies
• developing and managing course shells on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
• integrating concepts related to religion, society, economy, and politics into teaching and learning activities
• monitoring student progress and providing timely feedback and academic support
• providing academic advising, mentorship, and counseling to students
• developing and maintaining assessments and grade records in accordance with institutional policies and procedures
• participating in academic initiatives, meetings, workshops, and curriculum enhancement activities within SONAM
• marking assignments and ensuring fair and consistent evaluation practices
• managing and coordinating course teams to ensure effective course delivery.

Requirements:

You should have:

• a PhD in Pakistan Studies or Islamic Studies from a recognized institution
• a minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in a reputable academic institution
• sound conceptual knowledge of the relevant disciplines and the ability to integrate theory into practice
• demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design, development, delivery, and student assessment methodologies
• familiarity with innovative teaching practices and educational technologies
• proficiency in information and communication technology and virtual learning platforms
• strong organizational, planning, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment
• commitment to student learning, continuous improvement, and academic excellence.
