INSTRUMENT ENGINEER

ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Engineer to join the maintenance team. The candidate will be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems critical to plant operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Calibrate and maintain control systems, sensors, controllers, transmitters, flow meters, and pressure gauges.
  • Troubleshoot and repair control loops, process measurement instruments, and field devices.
  • Ensure all instrumentation systems meet required operational and safety standards.
  • Lead the installation and commissioning of new instrumentation systems and upgrades.
  • Interpret P&ID diagrams, instrument data sheets, and calibration records.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to ensure control systems align with plant process requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain calibration records, maintenance logs, and technical reports.
  • Enforce safety compliance including LOTO, PPE, and safe working procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership to Instrument Technicians and Helpers.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs within six (6) hours when required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

✓ Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or a related field.

✓ Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance in a power plant or process industry.

✓ Proven experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA systems, and process instrumentation.

✓ Strong knowledge of calibration techniques for pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments.

✓ Familiarity with HART, PROFIBUS, or Modbus communication protocols is an advantage.

✓ Certifications in instrumentation safety and calibration preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RO400.000 - RO500.000 per month
