Job Description (JDs)
- Oversee installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of field instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
- Manage PLC, DCS, SCADA systems and ensure smooth plant instrumentation operations.
- Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance for all instrumentation equipment.
- Supervise instrumentation technicians and contractors; allocate duties and monitor performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and internal SOPs.
- Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, Mechanical, and Process departments for plant uptime.
- Maintain calibration records, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.
- Support commissioning, shutdowns, and plant modification projects.
- Liaise with OEMs and vendors for technical support and spare parts management.
- Analyze recurring instrument failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Education & Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering.
- Certification or hands-on training in PLC/DCS (Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, Schneider, etc.) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in a steel plant, power plant, or continuous process industry.
- Proven experience in managing plant-wide instrumentation systems and teams.
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with calibration tools and field instruments.
- Ability to read P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control schematics.
- Good leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
