Job Purpose:
Ensure safe maintenance execution of Instrumentation and Control Systems, compliant with HSE rules, legislative regulations, and international standards. Set and promote Leadership in Safety attitudes. Coordinate and supervise department activities and provide technical support to team members. Instruct and lead technicians regarding acceptable attitudes and behaviours.
Job Responsibilities:
Methods and Procedures

Develop and issue instrumentation-specific procedures, method statements, work instructions, and risk assessments for all maintenance and repair activities.

Perform failure analyses, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and prepare/issue technical dossiers with corrective and preventive actions.

Develop detailed Scope of Work (SOW) for Level 5 Maintenance (L5M), refurbishment, repairs, and non-routine interventions on process instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, and safety devices.

Review vendor and engineering documentation, contribute to the Management of Change (MoC) process, and ensure proper closure, including cost tracking and dossier finalization.
Maintenance and Reliability

Support the Maintenance Discipline Engineer in defining comprehensive preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for instrumentation and control systems.

Establish criticality-based maintenance plans for sensors, transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and associated electrical/instrument interfaces.

Identify opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement through innovative solutions, automation enhancements, or digital monitoring.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date CMMS data (SAP, Maximo, AMOS), methods, procedures, and technical reports.

Support integration of instrumentation reliability tools, such as condition monitoring, predictive diagnostics, and digital twins.
Integrity and SECE Management

Manage Safety and Environmental Critical Elements (SECE) for instrumentation systems.

Ensure timely implementation of Integrity Management tools in line with corporate ARCI responsibilities.

Act as SECE Sponsor for assigned instrumentation elements, coordinating with headquarters Integrity teams as needed.

Monitor and report SECE-related KPIs, ensuring timely closure of gaps and non-conformities.

Ensure lessons learned from failures, inspections, and audits are incorporated into updated maintenance and method procedures.
Project and Vendor Coordination

Plan and coordinate vendor and subcontractor assistance, including on-site interventions and remote support.

Prepare Scope of Work, schedules, and budget forecasts, ensuring proper execution and closure of work dossiers, including invoice reconciliation.

Participate in discipline meetings with project teams, client representatives, and contractors.

Contribute to project KPI reporting, progress monitoring, and technical review sessions.
HSE Responsibilities

Ensure all instrumentation methods, procedures, and work instructions comply with HSE regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

Demonstrate visible commitment to safety through language, behaviour, and active participation in safety initiatives.

Conduct safety assessments, audits, and incident investigations for instrumentation activities.

Actively participate in permit-to-work systems, verifying proper safety controls, area preparation, and restoration.

Promote hazard recognition, risk mitigation, and safe work practices for instrumentation maintenance and repair activities.
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Automation Engineering
-
8–10+ years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering within oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, or FPSO sectors.
