Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary

The Senior Instrumentation Technician is a key technical expert responsible for overseeing

the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of complex instrumentation and control

systems in Dugas. This role ensures the integrity and reliability of safety-critical systems,

supports operational excellence, and mentors junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Lead the diagnosis and repair of complex faults in instrumentation systems,
  • including DCS, ESD, F&G, and PLCs.
  • Supervise and execute preventive and corrective maintenance on field
  • instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature).

Calibration & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure precision calibration of instruments in compliance with international
  • standards (ISA, IEC).
  • Validate loop integrity and perform functional testing during commissioning
  • and shutdowns.

Installation & Commissioning

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of new instrumentation systems
  • and upgrades.
  • Ensure proper integration with control systems and adherence to engineering
  • specifications.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain and review technical documentation, calibration records, and
  • maintenance logs.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and industry best
  • practices.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior instrumentation technicians.
  • Support competency development and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Technical Support & Optimization

  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA), HAZOP studies, and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend upgrades and modifications to improve system performance and reliability.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance within oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA), fieldbus technologies
  • (HART, Foundation Fieldbus), and hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx).
  • Proficient in interpreting P& IDs, loop diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo) and digital maintenance tools.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
