A Day in the Life of the Instrumentation Applications Specialist

You'll be the critical link between customers, sales teams, and technical experts, making sure every customer gets matched with the right instrumentation for their application. From understanding flow rates and process conditions to preparing quotes and managing orders, you'll keep the quote-to-order lifecycle running smoothly while helping customers solve real engineering challenges.


Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding customer applications including flow rates, pressure, temperature, and gas/liquid media
  • Supporting instrument sizing and configuration, including flow ranges, materials, connections, and calibration options
  • Interpreting customer requirements and matching them to appropriate instrumentation solutions
  • Preparing accurate and timely quotes for configured hardware and accessories
  • Tracking open quotations and supporting sales staff, distributors, and key accounts
  • Validating pricing and product options
  • Reviewing purchase orders for accuracy against quoted configurations
  • Entering and managing orders within ERP systems
  • Providing delivery updates and shipment tracking information
  • Responding to technical and commercial inquiries
  • Assisting with returns, exchanges, and repairs
  • Maintaining accurate customer and order data in ERP/CRM systems
  • Collaborating with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and European headquarters


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of B2B sales, customer support, or technical support experience
  • Ability to explain technical or engineered product concepts to customers and distributors
  • Prior experience explaining technical products to customers well enough that it influences their purchasing decision
  • Experience preparing quotes or reviewing purchase orders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience working with ERP/CRM systems
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment
