About this opportunity:
Cenovus Energy is seeking a new Instrument Technician for our Superior Refinery that is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of instrumentation and control systems. The duties will be performed in an outdoor process facility under the direction of the maintenance department. Work is performed consistent with standard procedures, applicable training, specifications, and regulatory standards, with attention to completing tasks in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. Work is performed both inside and outside, in a variety of weather conditions and is considered physically demanding.

What you’ll do:
Repair, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot Instrumentation & Controls
Contribute and align to the Cenovus safety culture and standards. Take training to keep current on Electrical standards and policies. Follow procedures and safe work practices
Provide support to engineering as needed (projects, field walks, etc.)
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all site safety requirements
Provide support and feedback to planners and schedulers
Complete installations on field instruments
Assist to develop Instrument procedures and updating documentation
Work out of lift equipment such as scissor lifts, bucket trucks and ariel lifts
Who you are:
Legally authorized to work in the US
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Valid driver’s license required
Experience in an industrial environment as an Instrumentation Technician or closely related position required
Ability to understand and apply blueprints & technical diagrams
Ability to satisfactorily pass any applicable written or field tests and training as required by the Company
