Instrumentation/Telecom Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Instrumentation, Telecom & ELT Technician as part of a tender submission. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation, telecom, electronic low-voltage (ELT), and control systems within oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar industrial facilities, including solar power plant installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform operation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, telecom, and ELT systems.
• Maintain and support Process Alarm & Gas Alarm (PAGA) systems.
• Operate and maintain TETRA radio, VHF/UHF radio communication systems, and associated networks.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Audio Visual systems, CCTV cameras, Access Control Systems, and communication networks.
• Support operation and maintenance of SCADA and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Maintain and troubleshoot Driver Virtual Simulator Systems (where applicable).
• Perform maintenance on SMART field instruments, including:
• Flow meters
• Level transmitters
• Temperature transmitters
• Motorized valves
• Solenoid valves
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA systems, traffic light systems, vibration monitoring systems, and Fire & Gas systems.
• Support weather monitoring stations associated with solar power plants.
• Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, OEM manuals, and approved maintenance procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation, calibration records, and maintenance reports.
• Follow all HSE requirements and site safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Three-year Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience as an Instrumentation / Telecom / ELT Technician.
• Proven experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar industrial facilities.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Instrumentation and control systems
• Telecom and ELT systems
• SCADA, PLCs, and BMS
• Fire & Gas and PAGA systems

Skills & Knowledge

• Familiarity with international instrumentation, telecom, and safety system codes and standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Language Skills

• Good spoken English skills are mandatory.
