Insurance Coordinator - Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Coordinator to join our team in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of medical insurance processing, ensuring seamless coordination between healthcare providers and insurance companies.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Claim Management: Efficiently process and submit medical insurance claims, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with insurance policies.
  • Pre-authorization: Coordinate and obtain necessary prior approvals for medical procedures and treatments from various insurance providers.
  • Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage details before appointments or procedures.
  • Reconciliation: Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims, managing rejections and resubmissions to minimize financial discrepancies.
  • Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the medical facility, patients, and insurance companies to resolve queries and disputes.
  • Documentation: Maintain updated records of insurance contracts, price lists, and policy changes.
  • Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on claim status, approval rates, and insurance-related financial data.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of proven experience as an Insurance Coordinator specifically within the Qatar healthcare market.
  • Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with major insurance portals in Qatar (e.g., QLM, Alkoot, MetLife, AXA, etc.) and Health Information Systems (HIS).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Qatar’s healthcare regulations and insurance laws.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic is a significant advantage).
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and claim processing to avoid technical rejections.
  • Professionalism: Ability to handle sensitive patient information with strict confidentiality.
