Job Overview
We're hiring an INSURANCE COORDINATOR. This position is responsible for the proper and timely processing of insurance payments and management of accounts receivable.

DUTIES

- Processes insurance payments, monitors charges, enters and verifies correct payment of claims and deductions.

- Downloads and posts ACH remittances and verifies accuracy of report.

- Manages payer denials and processing delays effectively and efficiently.

- Answers inquiries and correspondence from patients and insurance companies, discusses patient questions and concerns regarding insurance and claims

- Follows up with insurance companies and ensures claims are paid and accounts receivable remains current.

- Verifies patient statements daily.

- Assists with daily balance and deposit of payments, scans electronic deposits as needed.

- Assists with contacting insurance companies to verify eligibility for immunizations.

- Maintain strict confidentiality.

- Participate in professional development efforts to ensure currency in health care practices and trends.

- May be required to perform other duties as requested by management.

- Cross training in other departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in business administration or secretarial program preferred.

- 1 year previous experience working in medical facility preferred.

- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced confidential medical environment.

- Must be a team-oriented individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Knowledge of medical terminology.

- Ability to meet and exceed deadlines on a regular basis.

- Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

- Ability to maintain working relationships and interact with patients and employees daily.

The regular work hours for this position are 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Overtime may be required. The schedule is subject to change with production demands.

BENEFITS

This position starts at $17 per hour with the opportunity for higher pay based on experience and qualifications.
