Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Attorney to join our reputable law firm. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in various legal practice areas, including personal injury law, workers' compensation law, estate planning, environmental law, and more. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex litigation cases, provide expert legal counsel, and support clients through diverse legal challenges. Candidates must demonstrate strong research and writing skills, proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw, and excellent negotiation abilities. A background in legal drafting and administrative experience within a law office setting is highly desirable.

Duties

  • Represent clients in insurance defense cases across multiple practice areas including personal injury law, trucking, premises liability, products liability and more.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests with precision and clarity
  • Manage all phases of litigation from initial pleadings through trial preparation and settlement negotiations
  • Advise clients on legal rights and obligations related to estate planning, environmental issues, tribal laws & regulations, securities law, patent law, immigration law, and other relevant fields
  • Negotiate settlements effectively while maintaining client interests
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases requiring interdisciplinary expertise
  • Maintain detailed case files and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines
  • Stay current on evolving laws and regulations affecting insurance defense practices

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is required
  • Proven experience in insurance defense litigation across diverse practice areas such as personal injury law
  • Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms
  • Excellent legal writing skills with attention to detail in drafting pleadings and legal documents
  • Effective negotiation skills with a track record of successful settlements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases efficiently within a fast-paced environment
  • Legal administrative experience preferred for managing case documentation and court filings
  • Exceptional analytical skills combined with the ability to interpret complex legal issues accurately

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
