Insurance Officer – Approvals
DOC Medical Center is seeking an experienced Insurance Officer
Approvals responsible for managing medical insurance approval processes, ensuring accurate and timely claims submission, and maintaining compliance with insurance policies and regulatory requirements. The role involves coordinating with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to facilitate smooth approval workflows, minimize rejections, and ensure efficient reimbursement and claims processing across the organization.
Requirements
Educational Qualification: MBBS/BDS/B.Sc. Nursing/B. Pharm/Any allied healthcare qualification [Preferred] OR Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
Minimum 45 years of experience in medical insurance, approvals, or billing in Qatar.
CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification
Mandatory.
Strong knowledge of insurance policies, approval processes, medical coding, and billing systems.
Good understanding of Qatar healthcare insurance procedures and MoPH regulations.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and process compliance.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
Process and submit insurance claims accurately and ensure timely approvals.
Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage, and pre-authorization requirements.
Review claims for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to submission.
Follow up on pending, rejected, and delayed approvals to ensure timely resolution.
Coordinate with insurance companies on coverage, policies, and payment guidelines.
Ensure billing and documentation align with insurance contracts and coding standards.
Work with billing and revenue cycle teams to resolve claim discrepancies and improve reimbursements.
Maintain accurate records and reports of approvals, claims, rejections, and reimbursements.
Ensure compliance with Qatar MoPH regulations and insurance requirements.
Analyze rejection trends and support process improvements to reduce claim denials.
