Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Referral Coordinator to join our growing healthcare team. In this critical role, you will ensure seamless coordination of patient referrals and insurance authorizations, helping to deliver timely, high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and process patient referrals to specialists, facilities, and ancillary services
- Verify insurance eligibility, coverage, and benefits prior to scheduled services
- Obtain, track, and manage prior authorizations and referrals in accordance with payer requirements
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Monitor and follow up on pending referrals and authorizations to prevent delays in patient care
- Assist patients with insurance-related questions, providing clear and helpful guidance
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s degree preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in healthcare administration, referrals, or insurance coordination
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans (HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid)
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with prior authorizations and referral management workflows
- Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
- Strong problem-solving skills with a patient-centered approach
